BRAHMA AI Details Performance-Preserving Workflows on Here and Ramayana
BRAHMA AI · Studio Announcement
What happened
BRAHMA AI's Emmy-recognized Neural Performance technology changes a performer's age, likeness or identity while preserving expression, movement, lighting and scene continuity. On Robert Zemeckis' Here, the system visualized younger versions of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright on set in near real time and delivered approximately one hour of final 4K transformation. The same technology is being used on Ramayana for performance-preserving English-language lip sync. The Television Academy independently lists Disney Research, Rising Sun Pictures, Digital Domain and Metaphysic, now BRAHMA AI, among the recipients recognized for AI-based face replacement and performance-preserving post-production transformation.
Why it matters
This is AI operating inside a mature VFX pipeline on final-pixel work while specifically protecting the actor's original timing, expression and movement. The examples move the discussion beyond demos: real-time visualization supports decisions during photography, shot-controllable transformation carries through finishing, and multilingual lip sync addresses localization without discarding the source performance. Those are concrete production problems with measurable creative and technical requirements.
Antique Robots take
This is much closer to what production AI should mean. The actor performs. The director directs. VFX controls the transformation. The machine solves a difficult technical problem without becoming the author of the performance. An Emmy does not make every AI workflow good—but production-proven, shot-controllable technology deserves to be taken seriously.
