Alden Peters Tests Scanned Locations in a Portable Virtual-Production Setup

Lightcraft · Production Workflow

What happened

Lightcraft documents Alden Peters’ test combining Spark previs, Jetset, a Blackmagic camera and portable greenscreen with scanned environments. The crew matched natural sunlight to the scans, then used Volinga in Unreal Engine for relighting and Nuke for further compositing. Why it matters

The example connects location capture, planning, photography and finishing. It also exposes a central constraint: captured lighting must work with the live-action foreground.

Antique Robots take

Use a representative moving shot to test scan quality, lighting and compositing before planning a sequence around a location asset. Judge the finished shot and revision process together.
